On July 8th, our morning started off with breakfast at 7am. Filling up for the long day ahead before hopping on the bus and getting under way at 8am. It was 10:30am before we arrived, the 2.5 hour journey passed by talking about the upcoming event and trying to buy Coldplay tickets. Check in was surprisingly quick for the amount of people there and you could feel the excitement build in the starting area.

Getting changed or browsing merch you could hear the MC getting the next wave riled up, the chanting and “Hoorah” coming from the expectant Mudders right before under taking one of Ireland’s toughest obstacle course events. From electrical shocks, monkey bars, Olympic rings, high walls and mud pits up to your waist the 20km tumbled by over the course of 5 hours.

Tired, sore and very muddy, team Active24 proudly crossed the finish line to collect their headbands and finisher t-shirts. Catching up on some much needed and well deserved sleep on the trip back, everyone felt recharged enough to meet in An Púcán that evening where we could start planning next year’s event.

Will you be with us?
