4 Strategies to Maximise Your Time at the Gym


Life can be busy, and it can be hard to find the time to hit the gym once or twice a week. One of my favourite mottos is; “train smarter, not harder”. So I have compiled a list to help you maximise your time at the gym.

  1. SPEND LESS TIME ON THE CARDIO FLOOR – If you’re doing more than 20 minutes of steady-state cardio during your workout then you’re wasting valuable time. The most effective way of burning fat, increasing metabolism and increasing fitness levels is to use time efficient interval training. Two of the best ways to do this are through High intensity interval training (H.I.I.T) and Tabata Training. These two methods burn fat more efficiently and in half the time!
  2. SMART NUTRITION PRE AND POST WORKOUT – Proper fuel intake plays a vital role in performance on the gym floor. Studies show that an intake of both carbohydrates and protein 30-45 minutes before physical activity help recover faster and build more muscle.
  3. BUILD MUSCLE TO BURN FAT – Weight lifting will not make you “bulky”. Truth be told, following a well structured weight lifting program will increase your fat burning metabolism, this will not only keep you burning unwanted calories through the day but will put you well on your way to achieving the healthy body you’ve always wanted.
  4. HIRE A PERSONAL TRAINER – Without a doubt having an experienced professional who specialises in making a difference in people’s lives taking care of your every step is a huge plus! A personal trainer will have every second of your workout planned out ahead of time this will make sure there is no time wasted from the moment you step foot onto the gym floor to the moment you walk out. Understanding the human anatomy and knowing how to manipulate the body’s energy systems to maximise training effect is a perfect recipe for results. All the guess work is taken out on your side and you can sleep well knowing that the job is being taken care of.
